1986 Gooberfest was an outdoor memorial concert held every year in a farmer’Äôs field outside of Janesville Wi. Raven Bitch played this show in 1986 on a stage built on the back of a flatbed semi trailer. The show started promising enough with the band making a grand entrance. They filled the back of their equipment truck (which they were using as a dressing room on this night) with theatrical smoke, and then with a strobe light blasting behind them, stepped out onto the truck’Äôs hydraulic lift and slowly lowered to the stage as their intro music played. They played a very well received first set. During their break, the truss that was holding up the lighting rig twisted and fell to the stage, sending Greg’Äôs drums scattering like bowling pins and snapping Bobby’Äôs BC Rich Warlock guitar in half. Fortunately, the stage was empty at the time so there were no serious injuries. Too bad the guy on the flyer wasn’Äôt holding up the truss.
